Condenser Microphone Capsule (2-pin)

The 2-Pin Electret Condenser Microphone Capsule is an acoustic transducer made to capture clear and accurate sound over a wide range of volumes. It uses an electrostatic charge and has a built-in Field Effect Transistor or FET to change the high impedance of the capsule into a signal that works well with standard audio circuits. This makes it highly sensitive and low in noise all packed into a metal case.

It has two pins that go through the board with the negative pin connected to the outer aluminum casing for grounding. Because of this design its commonly used in voice recording projects, intercom systems, smart home voice commands, acoustic sensing applications and custom audio preamplifiers.
