The 4-Pin Momentary Tactile Push Button Switch is an electromechanical switch that is used for user input changing modes and resetting circuits on printed circuit boards. It works using a normally-open (SPST-NO) design. When the button is pressed the inside metal snap-dome contacts close, which makes the circuit work. When the button is let go it goes back to the position by itself and makes a clear loud click sound.
The standard spacing between the pins fits perfectly into 2.54 mm breadboards, perfboards and custom PCBs. This makes it a must-have part for Arduino projects Raspberry Pi setups, automotive key fobs, home appliances and any kind of do-it-yourself electronics.
Key Highlights:
- Positive Tactile Feedback: The strong spring-steel dome inside gives a feeling of a snap and a loud click when the button is pressed.
- Breadboard-Friendly: The way the pins are shaped and spaced makes them hold tightly into the holes of breadboards and standard perfboards so they don’t fall out.
- Signal Stability: The switch has little bouncing when pressed and low resistance so it works well with normal microcontroller pull-up or pull-down resistors.
- Durable Construction: The area where the contacts are sealed helps protect against some dust, which makes the switch last, than 100,000 times.
